Exceptional results.

How do you get exceptional results?

That’s a question natural curiosity begs.
If you’re wanting to become a high achiever.

Or you can just walk on by.
Not really noticing at all.

How does an athlete finish first?
How does a top chef get those tastes?
How does a leader get consistent results?

You can model the behaviours and mindset.
But the thing that makes the difference.
Doing the deliberate practice.

Every day aiming to get one part of the process right.
Learning from the mistakes you make.
Improving on top of that.

Getting Chile (my Working Trials dog)
to make those jumps perfectly
took hours of practice.

You don’t just take the dog to a 9ft long jump,
Or a 6ft scale and say “jump”.

What you see here is disciplined effort.
Just like becoming a top consultant,
or business developer, or leader.

Motivation. Discipline. Precision.

Each step practiced.
Small incremental challenges.
Refined… until it all comes together.

It’s even harder with teamwork.
Dog and handler in this case.

Any miscommunication begets failure.

Let the team know what you want.
Ask for that with calm assertive leadership.
Success gets rewarded it with super-praise and more.
(Tennis ball, always the tennis ball.)

And of course I worked with a top coach throught.
The video was made in August 2008.

Question: What exceptional result is on your agenda?

Does consultative selling work with public sector clients?

Does consultative selling work with public sector clients? In my last post, I recommended Consultative Selling by Mack Hanan. Reading the book, you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s all about commercial business. The language is all about profit improvement. Hanan puts that at the core of client conversations.
