You know those stalled consulting deals nobody wants to talk about?

Well, notice how weight-loss and exercise programmes use before and after photos in their adverts.

Their deals don't stall.

Why?

Because contrasting the before and after works ! First the images grab (the right) peoples' attention. Then the show a transformation those people want ... and bolster the belief they can have it.

The image has #impact and the underlying psychology has #influence.

Back to those stalled consulting deals ... did you use contrast, or another tool, to influence the clients decision? Did you inject a sense of belief about importance and urgency? Did you make the mistake of focusing them on your process* not outcomes.

Or, did you just send them a proposal and hope they'd decide for themselves.

I thought so!

Life gets a lot easier when you give up hope. Get in touch if you'd like to talk about avoiding those stalled deals ... even unsticking a few of those you have too.

* The ultimate rookie mistake ... prospects buy the view from the top of the mountain, not the painful climb it's going to take them to get there. STOP focusing on your unique process BS.

Bob Dylan: Reimagined song meanings poetically. Martin Luther King Jr.: Envisioned equality beyond segregation. Richard Branson: Ignored business conventions fearlessly. John
