Your posts don't suck... your headlines do.

I’ve been learning this the hard way.

Most of what I post on LinkedIn doesn’t get seen.
Not because the ideas aren’t good.
But because I’m not earning attention.

I used to think writing something valuable and hitting “post” was enough.

It’s not.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗴𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗺 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆.
It rewards early connection.
And that starts with grabbing attention.

If you’re posting to help people, remember this:
Before lots of people can get value,
you need a few to stop scrolling.

Otherwise LinkedIn buries your content 🪦

Here’s what I’m finding …

The first few words - the headline, the hook - are the difference that makes the difference.

They stop the scroll. They open the door.

A quick example:
I wrote two nearly identical posts.
𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝘁 500% 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.


The key difference was using this counter-intuitive headline to grab attention.

“𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀?”

You've probably heard that headlines are important.
I certainly have.

But ... just let it sink in … 5X engagement ... because ... headline.

So, now I'm making a collection of high-performing hooks that grab me. Then I'll reshape and test. Like today's ↑
