I twisted my ankle in a pothole.
Twist. Ouch!

The UK has a pothole crisis.

The excuses:
- underfunding
- HGV
- utilities

In other words - blame someone else.

The background:
- low standards
- low accountability
- low consequences

Meaning - failed leadership.

Fortunately I wasn’t badly hurt.

So, look to the lesson from this, for those of us in relentless pursuit of improved performance.

Where do your standards need raising?
How will you ensure accountability?
What consequences are there?
