Autumn reading

Most book lists I see have 60+ titles.
That seems like a lot of books to read in a year.

It makes me question how many were read.
And if they were digested deeply before recommendation.

Maybe.

Anyway, I’m sharing my Autumn reading list.
Based on The Sunday Dispatches prompts.

3 books to read; and digest; and make marginalia.

These aren’t recommendations, they’re a glimpse into my world.

The Art of Noticing by Rob Walker. I chose this because it promises exercises to help me steal my attention back from the daily distractions.

The idea of a scavenger hunt, noticing CCTV cameras, sold me on the book.

Factfulness by Hans Rosling, Ola Rosling, and Anna Rosling Rönnlund. The publishers claim this book will change the way I’ll see the world, and make me realise things are better than I thought. The quiz at the front of the book hooked me. To get the facts you must start asking questions and stop guessing.

Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara. This book offers an action plan for creating extraordinarily memorable experiences.

Insights from a different industry sector to mine have made me curious about implementation.

So, these are my three books to read in August, September, and October.

What will you be reading?

Why do you write all this stuff?

“Why do you write all this stuff?” She asked. Fair question and a simple answer. I get clearer when I write my thoughts down. I’m not writing to persuade you. I’m writing to persuade myself. I’m writing to see things differently. Sometimes when the writing seems useful

Does consultative selling work with public sector clients?

Does consultative selling work with public sector clients? In my last post, I recommended Consultative Selling by Mack Hanan. Reading the book, you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s all about commercial business. The language is all about profit improvement. Hanan puts that at the core of client conversations.
