How much effort and time did you invest in business growth last week?

Do you have the feeling 2024 is going to be a tough one? That’s the vibe I’m getting from some prospects. They’ve talked themselves into hunkering down to survive. On the other hand some of my clients are going into 2024 with a strong sense of purpose. They’ll be going for growth and increased market share in their target and current accounts.

Isn’t it interesting … the role one’s mindset plays in achieving success.

Which leads us to this week’s mini-mission.

In the first week of January, how much effort and time did you invest in business growth last week?

New Year presents an easy opportunity to create a meaningful experience for important people in your client base, and target prospects.

And you still have another week before that opportunity runs out forever. Here are three different ways you might do this:

  1. Call them on their mobile phone (don’t just email) and wish them Happy New Year. Leave a personalised voice mail if they don’t answer. No other agenda. If you do get to talk with them ask about their holiday break and plans for making 2024 memorable - keep it light.
  2. Send them a book. If you’ve been with me for a while you’ll know this is a favourite of mine. Again make it personal with something relevant to them. I recently sent Steven Bartlett’s “The Diary of a CEO” to an executive and Seth Godin’s “Ship It” to two of my people.
  3. Make some new New Year introductions. This is a two for one effort. Simply introduce two people with common interests to each other. We all want to expand our networks within big companies, which isn’t always easy. Do clients a favour and make that happen for them.

That’s three from me to make it easier for you.

Now, reply and let me know what you decide to do.
