1/ NOTICE

Snowdrops and gratitude.

As we head toward the end of January I notice the first snowdrops are up in the garden. These flowers always bring a smile to my face.

Did you know the flowers are white because, according to folklore, the snow shared its color as a thank you? But why? The legend reminds us that gratitude transforms both giver and receiver.

What can you do today to show gratitude to someone?

Read: The folklore of snowdrops.

2/ TRY

As I start coaching more people wanting elite performance I’ve been revisiting my experiences with NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). This was something I studied 30+ years ago, and was the first thing I found that actually helped me make profound changes in my life.

I wrote this post on LinkedIn about a method used to change thinking patterns and re-programme limiting beliefs.

3/ QUESTION

What standard are you meeting that no longer stretches you?

Last year's target.
Last quarter's pace.
Last month's output.

Comfort is the first sign you've stopped building.

A few examples to stimulate your thinking:

“The presentation structure I developed two years ago still gets good feedback."

"We cover the same topics each week, and my team is comfortable with that."

"Our customer satisfaction score is above 80%, which is industry standard."

Ask yourself: Where do I need to up the ante?
