10X improvements - possible or predictable?

You judge:

Just over a week ago I was asked my opinion about a LinkedIn poll ...

I put out a survey last week, and the results are not what I wanted, perhaps because I asked the wrong question

Then.

Can I ask your advice on whether this would be a better survey question?

----

I like to be useful, so my response was:

- What would make me stop and read this?
- What would allow me to scroll past.
- If I stopped what would make me answer?

My view is the prompt is too abstract, not immediate, and complex wording.

Basically you are too clever! Ask in plain English like you’re talking to a non-consultant."

I also offered a two sentence, 24 word, alternative which they used.

The result.

A 10X higher response.
And a survey that now provided data and insight.

This type of 10X improvement is not that unusual for me.
The thing is though I still undervalue their potential.
These short, sharp, candid interventions work!

Bob Dylan: Reimagined song meanings poetically. Martin Luther King Jr.: Envisioned equality beyond segregation. Richard Branson: Ignored business conventions fearlessly. John
