We used to read newspapers.

I looked around the hotel breakfast room this morning. There were no newspapers in sight. Just people looking at glass portals into a virtual life.

Maybe they were reading the news online, but it looked like most were scrolling through social media. Or answering emails, trying to get a head start on their day.

Then I noticed him.

A man sitting alone. Dark suit, white shirt, tie, expensive shoes. No phone in sight. Just him and his newspapers.

It was as if I'd time travelled back to the early years, when I first stayed in hotels on business.

When you'd check in to a hotel the receptionist would ask which newspaper you'd like. This was delivered to your room as a matter of course.

There were no little glass portals to split your attention into multiple threads. Just the news.

I used to ask for two papers. The Guardian and The Telegraph. I found it interesting to compare the different spin they put on stories.

Maybe that was me multi-threading back then.

Back then when we used to digest the news.

Does consultative selling work with public sector clients?

Does consultative selling work with public sector clients? In my last post, I recommended Consultative Selling by Mack Hanan.
