You can’t beat independent thinking.

That’s why I look at advice through the eyes of a skeptic.

Does it:
-- Oversimplify complexity
-- Bias based on a limited perspective
-- Have a hidden agenda

Often you’ll find one or more of these present.

So, ask yourself, does the advice:
-- Offer diverse perspectives
-- Consider context and application
-- Declare the advisors bias and agenda

Buyer beware!

Look for data based evidence of effectiveness, not just inspiring stories and outlier case studies.

And think about how any advice aligns with your goals and values.
